ONE OF A KIND
COMPASS COLLECTION
These hand made compasses are original antiques dating back to the 1880s. Glass faces are either on one or both sides of the compass. Glass IS breakable if dropped on certain surfaces. Please handle with care. The glass is quite durable as it is substantially thick and has survived all sorts of conditions for over 130 years. If glass does break we will be unable to repair it. A watch maker can be consulted to repair it for you if need be.
POLISHING:
If desired, You may use a dry Sterling Silver polishing cloth to refresh the sheen on the metal surrounding your compass. This will work well on 14K Gold Filled pieces as well.
Avoid polishing the deliberately oxidized portions of chain if this design element applies to your piece . Polishing oxidation runs the risk of lifting the black oxidation and may cause an uneven finish to occur.
LIMITED EDITIONS
Hand Made Antique Watch Crystal Shakes
Please be mindful that this collection incorporates antique glass watch crystals on both faces. Though quite durable, glass can break if dropped on certain surfaces. Handle with care.
POLISHING:
If polishing is desired, use ONLY dry Sterling Silver Polishing Cloth. Gently buff around the bezel without applying undo pressure at jumpring attachment on top of the piece. Ear wire can be buffed as well. You can spray Windex SPARINGLY onto a paper towel and gently glide over the glass to clean the surface. Do NOT allow Windex to over saturate or you will risk dripping liquid inside your jewelry.
